TRAINING IN PENTICTON

Swimming- Okanagan Lake and Skaha Lake

Situated between two beautiful freshwater lakes makes Penticton an easy place to find a perfect place to train for open water swimming. Both Okanagan Lake (on the North end of town) and Skaha Lake (on the south end) have beautiful, family friendly, sandy beaches. Both lakes tend to have calmer water early in the morning. This time of day also makes finding a parking spot at the busy beaches a bit easier. Athletes are advised that these beaches do not have lifeguards on duty. Please DO NOT leave bikes or other valuables unattended on the beach. Athletes swim at their own risks outside of race times or supported swim course familiarization times.

Swim Course Familiarization Time (on course):

Saturday August 266:00 am - 7:30 amThe PeachSupported

Biking- Eastside Road and Naramata Road

If you’re looking for a paved road to ride on, heading either North or South out of Penticton will promise to be beautiful. Check out the east side of the lakes, riding through vineyards and orchards to either Naramata or OK Falls. Pick up bike maps of the area from the Info Booth in the Athlete Village. Cyclists are reminded that roads will not be closed outside of race times. Please ride with caution.
