OS STUDENT LEADERSHIP

OS students tend to juggle many balls academically , with double ( sometimes even triple !) majors and minors . They “ balance ” this with heavy engagement in campus life beyond the classroom as well . Students choose from a wide variety of organizations ranging from Greek life to Relay for Life , from K-Grams ( serving elementary education ) to professional student organizations like Michigan Pre-Law . They also choose many social justice activities through the Ginsberg Center , Michigan Community Scholars Program and the Peace Neighborhood Center . Additionally , they support the investment in their future through employment .
PEER MENTOR
LEGACY PROJECT 2017
The 2017 legacy project of this year ’ s peer mentors , Gabrielle Dompierre and Zach Miller , was the creation of a self-editable , interactive web page to locate individual students ’ pathways .
Each OS student now has a personal profile page on the OS website . These pages not only display their pathway but are also places to post resumes and other accomplishments to help with their recruitment for internships and jobs .
Once OS settles into the new space in Weiser Hall , an interactive touch screen will be installed for students to explore current student pathways . The Peer Mentors will also have a laptop to assist in their peer advising and help students navigate through the pathways .
Thank you to Zach and Gabrielle for their vision , hard work , and dedication to this project !
