Miniatures Featured at the National Pet Show
Submitted by Joan Baker Vice President & AMHA Show Manager for the Miniature Horse Club of Great Britain
For the third consecutive year , the Miniature Horse Club of Great Britain was invited to attend the National Pet Show at the National Exhibition Centre , Birmingham , England . In our daily thirty minute exhibition time we displayed examples of AMHA and British bred Miniature horses the number of attendees to the event has increased each year and well over 20,000 visitors were expected for this event .
In thirty minutes we managed to give examples of in hand showing , driving , jumping , halter obstacle , and long rein dressage movements . The crowds loved the additional tricks of High Fives , Spanish Walk and the finale of the show , lying down on a special mat . The reception given to our horses is always amazing , and for many people it is their first introduction to a Miniature horse . From the opening of the show until the end , our team answers many questions about all things Miniature .
The organizers of the show invited us to attend the National Pet Show in London in May , and then return again for the November 2017 event . We were also approached ( for the second year ) by the ‘ Britains Got Talent ’ scouts to appear on that show , which we declined , due to work commitments .
