1000 Hours - GTR Patricks Vindicator and Sarah Schaaf Patrick and Sarah started their season in April 2016 by exhibiting at their second Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event. Patrick demonstrated the versatility of the Miniature horse performing jumping and tricks that wowed the thousands that came to watch over the course of the weekend. He was also invited to do multiple meet and greets at the Absorbine, Purina and Bob Mickler’s tents where he “signed” autographs and posed for pictures with his fans. Patrick and Sarah were in attendance at the Breeds barn at the Kentucky Horse Park, where they gave daily demonstrations on multiple weekends and answered the many questions everyone had about Miniature horses. Other events they attended this year included Breyerfest (as part of the Bluegrass Miniature Horse Club), Morning Trackside at Keeneland Racetrack, Hallowhinny, The Bluegrass Classic and the CP National Horse Show. Additionally this year Patrick and Sarah began therapy work at a new facility near their home where he was adored by the patients and brought smiles to everyone he met! Patrick’s schedule for the coming year will be just as full with some additional activities yet to be announced. Patrick will be turning 23 on April 17, but he shows no sign of his age and is always willing to please. Sarah and Patrick celebrate their 19 year partnership this year as well. Sarah is so thankful for every day that she gets to spend with this special little horse.  H&HS Geminis Eight Dollars and Carolyn Menzer H&HS Geminis Eight Dollars, aka, Toy, went to his first AMHA show this year. He placed with one first and two seconds in his color class. Not bad for his first official show. He will be 16 yrs old this year and although he’s only 29 inches, he loves to jump! He has the heart of a champion. Toy and Carolyn spend lots of time together, going on walks, grooming and working on the obstacle course. Carolyn would like to encourage everyone to join in the fun and compete in this wonderful AMHA Mini Hours Program! Firewaters Bay Dream Believer and Sherry Gile Firewaters Bay Dream Believer and Sherry went to one AMHA show this year. Although these two are just getting started as a team, the mare is teaching Sherry a lot about showing in halter classes. Her sassy attitude makes showing in halter a bit more challenging but still fun. A p r i l 2017 Miniature Horse World 3
