2017 Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet Held at South Point, Las Vegas, Nevada S ome call it the Annual meeting, some call it a convention, but we all agree that this year, it was a great time of friends, meetings, discussions, productivity, laughs, good times, decision making and LOTS of positive productivity! It was encouraging to see people who might disagree with the process of getting from point A to point B come together and agree on the end results - all with mutual respect and having AMHA at the forefront of their thought process. THANK YOU! The Banquet was a great time! The amateur committee raising over $4,000 was a new high for the auction event. The surprise of an “A” award to Joanne Ross was a special treat for all of us to witness as well. It was exciting to see the distribution of hard, well-earned belt buckles putting smiles on the faces of our people. It was even greater to see the camaraderie and support of members genuinely happy for their friends and competitors. If you didn’t have a good time at the banquet, it was because you weren’t there. The Membership and board made some important decisions. I will not go into them here, but I will encourage you to pay attention to E-blasts, this online magazine, Facebook, Twitter, where you are sure to find out all about them. Please look for them and READ! Yes, there will be some small price increases on a few items. No one likes this, especially those making the decisions. Before being critical, please ask yourself: has anything stayed the same price in the world around us? A trip to the grocery store is quick and evident proof of the real world situation where pricing is concerned. OUR costs within AMHA have not stayed the same either, and we must make things work. Again, a real life situation that touches all of us in our day to day lives and is not just an “AMHA thing”.
