Legacy Gala To mark the beginning of our third decade as an organization , the Kiawah Conservancy presented the Legacy Gala in November of 2017 in a magnificent setting at the Kiawah Island Golf Resort ’ s Sanctuary Hotel . Tom Crawford once again presided over the elegant evening that included live and silent auctions and is the organization ’ s only fundraiser of the year . We are already planning a repeat performance for November of 2018 .
Garden Keepers Program A group of dedicated volunteers led by Edna Roberds and Pat Pachuk care for our Naturally Kiawah Demonstration Garden in Night Heron Park . This is a year-round initiative through which generous gardeners provide the elbow grease and enthusiasm to keep this special place as a living laboratory on landscaping for wildlife .
Agents of Discovery We have created seven self-guided tours for visitors and residents to follow on their smartphones and tablets in our Naturally Kiawah Pathways program . These tours are available through the free TravelStorysGPS app available through Google or the App Store . We have also added an augmented reality game for children called the Kiawah Conservancy Explores Bobcat Trail . The game is accessed through the free Agents of Discovery app , also available for a smartphone or other mobile device . The GPS-activated adventure starts at Night Heron Park and ends near Boardwalk 18 on the beach . Follow our top-secret agent , Bob E . Cat , as he eats , sleeps , and prowls around the Island .
