Becoming New
Again
by Pastor Jack Palzer
Sister and Brothers,
I
have known people in their late
eighties who live with confidence
that some of their best years
are before them. They are not
disappointed. I have also known
persons in their early thirties who,
sadly and regrettably, conclude their
best years have been. They won’t
be disappointed. It is a self-fulfilling
prophecy. Our expectations of our
future help manifest our future. Do
you believe some of your best years
are before you or do you believe your
best years have been?
I
n Revelation 21:5, we discover these
words of grace: “And he who sat
upon the throne said, “Behold, I make
all things new.” God is making all
things new in your life. This day.
I
was doing my daily devotion when
I read that text from Revelation. I
was reflecting on how God is always
making “things new” for me…for you
and for His world. The text does not
say, “Behold, I make all things the
same,” as though everything stays
starkly the same, from one day, one
year to the next.
