The Salvation Army in Story County operates a food pantry that is open
to Story County residents to use once every 30 days. Their pantry hours
are 1:00p-3:00p Monday-Friday. They can also see people by appointment
if their standard hours are not convenient.
The amount of food provided varies with family size and is weighed by
their staff and/or volunteer. They are a consumer choice pantry which
means the consumers are able to pick out their own food, with
staff monitoring. In addition to non-perishable foods, they offer refrigerated
and frozen items such as meat, cheese or eggs or donated produce and
bread/pastries when they have them in stock. When available, they also
offer personal care items such as soap, toilet paper, toothpaste, shampoo,
etc.
