Church Women United is a racially, culturally and theologically inclusive ecumenical Christian women ' s movement, celebrating unity in diversity and working for a world of peace and justice. The Des Moines area local unit meets monthly and has about 55 women from over 27 different churches attending. Their meetings are held in a local church for lunch and a program of Bible study, worship and celebration, and action on women’ s and children’ s social justice issues.
