The EGS406 is a small and quick thinning head located on the stand-operating harvester, Rottne H8D harvester head options for most of Rottne’s harvesters. Rottne has its own harvester heads, which are specially designed, manufactured and customised for each harvester model. The harvester heads are known for simple and robust construction, which provides a long service life, something that is combined with advanced technology and a high production capacity. Rottne has partnered with Logmax and SP Maskiner, which means that there are also several Rottne EGS 706: robust and powerful for final felling The Rottne EGS 706 is a stable and robust harvester head for heavy final felling with a 90 cm bar. Since it was launched four years ago, the EGS 706 has been continuously refined, with improved measuring equipment, among other advancements. New this year is a completely new type of saw box and bar holder, which makes it easier to handle very large trees. Characteristics for Rottne EGS 706 • T wo-speed hydraulic feeding (3.5 m/s, or 5.2 m/s) which is regulated automatically depending on the tree size – which mainly increases the production capacity for felling in smaller stands and maintains traction in thicker stands • Supporting wheel arms and five feed rollers provide a steady grip even on the coarsest stems, which facilitates the processing of heavy trees • Proportional tilt that is adjustable and lockable for easier tree processing • Proportional knife and feed roll pressure provides optimum grip depending on tree species and diameter for fast feeding while at the same time maintaining a low diesel consumption. 46 International Forest Industries | OCTOBER / NOVEMBER 2017 Rottne EGS 596 is a proven all-round harvester head for thinning and final felling Characteristics for the Rottne EGS 596 • S upporting wheel arms and three feed rollers that provide a steady grip even on the coarsest stems, which facilitates t
