In doing so, ER transfers energy back and forth between the main and the stick boom functions, reducing the total energy required and freeing this energy up for other machine functions or fuel savings. “Although similar in function, systems from other manufacturers do not offer the fuel-efficiency benefits of ER,” Tigercat stated. 820D track feller buncher Building on the highly successful 822D/LX830D limited tailswing platform, Tigercat has introduced the compact and nimble 820D track feller buncher. The 820D shares a redesigned and enhanced cab with the 822D and LX830D models. Narrower front posts and larger side windows expand sight lines to both the right and left sides. The skylight has been replaced by a camera system providing the operator with a much wider field of view and eliminating visibility inhibiting elements like snow and debris for year round capability. The cab interior is quiet and instrumentation has been thoughtfully placed to optimize ergonomics. The electronic control system interface uses a high- resolution, 180 mm touch screen colour display. There are multiple mounting points for additional electronic devices. The engine compartment is easily accessed via the power- operated side platform and roof enclosures. Access to components and daily service points is excellent with available ground level fuelling and easy access to the hydraulic filters, hydraulic oil fill pump, swing gearbox remote oil level tank, cooling system components and both sides of the engine. The Tigercat FPT N67 engine is available in Tier 2 or Tier 4 configurations. The N67 engine is equipped with a second generation common rail fuel injection system, allowing it to achieve top performance in terms of load response, maximum torque and top power with minimum fuel consumption. For Tier 4 final regions, the 820D delivers 210 kW (282 hp) at 2,200 rpm and for Tier 2 regions it is rated at 205 kW (275 hp) at 2,100 rpm. 855D and L855D feller buncher For plantation eucalyptus applications, Tigercat offers the 855D carrier equipped with the 2000 series bunching shear.
