Gilbert High Speed Planer Gilbert High Speed Planer features eight feed rolls , a 16 inch cutting circle , can fit up to 42 knives for the nicest finish on the market , and will run at feed speeds up to 4000 FPM and over 300 lugs per minute ! This model of planer is offered to mills who want a high speed production and require the most Heavy-Duty Machine . Or , this model can also be very beneficial to mills who are looking at improving their lumber finish the best way possible with the biggest cutting circle and the most amount of knives to have the highest knife mark per inch .
Gilbert 6 Roll Planer Gilbert 6 Roll Planer is designed for mid to high planermill speeds and production . This model features : six feed rolls , a 14 inch cutting circle , can fit up to 36 knives an impeccable finish . It runs at speeds up to 3000 feet per minute . Its compact design will fit very well in an existing layout .
Gilbert S Series Planer Gilbert S Series Planer is a smaller model designed to run at lower speeds . It was developed for mills that wanted Gilbert ’ s state of the art technology , but didn ’ t have the needs for a bigger planer . It features eight feed rolls , an 11 inch cutting circle and can fit up to 26 knives . It runs at speeds from 300 up to 2000 feet per minute . This model is the solution to diversified value added products like moulding ; remanufacturing , finger jointing , cedar , pine and rip saw operations .
Gilbert Moulder Planer Gilbert Moulder Planer is recognized for its strength , versatility and high quality results . Additional cutterhead modules offer the most exquisite lumber finish on the market . It is designed to produce all profile and special products , as well as high quality construction lumber . Gilbert offers the Moulder opportunity to all of its models of planer , either with the S Series , 6 Roll or High Speed Planer models .
Unique to Gilbert : The Pull- Through Technology The Gilbert Planer pulls the wood into the machine . It is an innovative design compared to the push feed technology , and has proven its efficiency for the past two decades and over 100 planer mill installations ! The Gilbert Planer is completely designed to operate with a gap . With the Pull-Through technology , each piece of wood is dragged through independently from one another , no matter the space between each piece .
This exclusive technology ensures a very high efficiency : Gilbert guarantees 95 % running uptime and higher ! Another important advantage of the Pull- Through technology is the planer capacity to run all boards : Twisted , crooked and bowed do not need to be removed . All goes through a Gilbert ! Since the wood is not being pushed in the machine , it doesn ’ t break . With the Pull- Through technology , no bridge is required between the feed table and the planer . The purpose of a bridge is to close the gap , but the Gilbert runs with the gap , so there is no need for a bridge . Therefore the Gilbert Planer will fit in a very compact layout which helps in building space savings . Also , the planer can run with no infeed operator : one operator at the tilt hoist is all that is required .

Progressive Cutterhead Technology Over the years , Gilbert has continued to work on developing the best and most progressive cutterhead technology . The Gilbert cutterheads use a hydro-grip system to tighten the knives , therefore there are NO bolts to install . It allows for more knives in the same cutting circle for nicer finish and high quality lumber .
Gilbert has also designed straight knife side heads . Straight knives are more robust than LV knives which ensures a better finish . Gilbert flat , corrugated and reversible knives are easy to grind with any conventional machine . Straight knives allows for more knives in the same cutting circle for nicer finish .
Gilbert has developed triple pattern side heads to keep heads three times longer in the planer . The height adjustment is automatic from a pattern to another . Both these features considerably increase operation hours .
Safety : Gilbert ’ s Priority Safety has always been a PRIORITY for Gilbert . For this reason , The Gilbert Planer is controlled by the Gilbert Automatic Positioning System . This system allows operators to control the planer from outside the planer room . The Gilbert Automatic Positioning System is operated by installing electric servo-motors onto each axis for automatic adjustments , optimal precision and higher grades : top and bottom heads , side heads and bedplate . During the past years , many more automatic adjustments have been added to the Gilbert controls to make the planer room even safer , such as automatic jointing of top and bottom heads , automatic jointing of side heads , automatic adjustment of pressure plates .
