OFA product launch The OFA Paragon 16 Soft is a development of the original Paragon 16 with a more open chain pattern , resulting in improved performance on soft terrains . The longitudinal studded chain lines enable simplified adjustment and reduced maintenance .
Paragon 16 Soft suits very well for forwarders , as the transverse chain lines make the chain very stable on tyres , regardless of the driving direction . The tensioning chain protects the tyre sidewall and shoulders .
The OFA U-Grip 22 is a new heavy-duty skidder chain . The U-stud , which is welded under the chain link , ensures constant power and weight transfer from the tyre for excellent grip . The casehardened 22 mm ( 7 / 8 in ) chain link , made from German high-grade boron steel , ensures best-in-class lifetime for the most extreme conditions . The 100 mm high-stud profile provides maximum traction in snow and mud and the round sharp studs ensure high traction on ice and hard ground .
Launch : Eco Log eight-wheel harvester 688E In the past year , Eco Log has launched new generations of both its harvesters and forwarders . At Elmia Wood , the company launched the latest addition of the E-series as it premiered the eight-wheeled harvester , 688E .
The harvester has been specially developed to handle work in steep terrain and to manoeuvre on sensitive ground . Eco Log also showcased other E-Series machines and demonstrated the 574E forwarder and the 580E harvester .
In addition to the new products , the supplier also launched a number of new services in finance , servicing and fleet management that will “ make things easier ” for customers .

E-harvester : “ A new generation with everything extra ”, is how Eco Log described this machine , which was launched in the spring of 2016 and is equipped with Volvo Penta D8 engines . Volvo Penta ’ s diesel engines have been developed especially for forestry applications . Their low weight , compact design and easy installation make them perfect for driving Eco Log ’ s new generation of harvesters .
Meanwhile , the E-forwarder has a new cab and new engine as of the January launch of two new models – the 574E and 594E . The new forwarders have been developed with the driver in mind , so the focus has been on a completely new cab with improved comfort and better visibility . The forwarder is also equipped with a new Volvo Penta diesel engine . The forwarder is a “ complete power package ” that provides a better total economy . Both models were on display at Elmia Wood .
New services : Eco Online is a fleet-management app , which gives the machine owner the possibility to monitor machine operations .
All Inclusive : All information is now available on one invoice , including finance , insurance , service and spare parts . This helps customers see how competitive their Eco Log is from a total cost perspective . It is currently available for Swedish market only . This complements the TCO ( Total Cost of Ownership Calculator ) system that allows easy calculation of the total economy for Eco Log owners . This also ties in with the new Service Agreement , which provides an overview of service costs , ensuring that work is performed with original parts by a Certified Service Representative . This is also only available in Sweden , for the moment .
Spare Parts Agreement : This checks spare parts and gives an even distribution of costs so a machine is always in the best condition ( also only for Swedes ).
Shredding , splitting and screening over Elmia “ They shred , split , wash and screen nearly any kind of input material – Doppstadt machines .” This was how the premium equipment supplier introduced itself to the crowds at Elmia this year .
The “ environmental technology enterprise ”, as it refers to itself as , has made a name for itself as a supplier of complete solutions for the treatment and production of recyclables .
