Eastern Finland
Juha Vaahterinen grinds and chips
in forests throughout Eastern
Finland. The company, Kuljetusliike
Vaahterinen OY , was founded by
his father in 1952 and developed
into one of Finland’s first bioenergy
businesses in the 80s.
Processing the material
they encountered in the forest
became a daunting task with the
equipment they had six years ago.
Brush caused problems for their
equipment. Vaahterinen almost
closed the bioenergy business in
2011 when their machines couldn’t
handle the job, so they added a CBI
5800 grinder and haven’t looked
back.
“When I bought the 5800, the
problem was gone,” Vaahterinen
said. “We had too many problems
in the brush, so I almost stopped,
but then I bought a CBI 5800 and
the problem was gone.”
Recognizing that no two
businesses have identical needs,
CBI uses the strongest components
to purpose-build portable and
stationary solutions.
Continental Biomass Industries
manufactures and distributes a
complete line of portable and
stationary grinders, shredders,
chippers, flail debarkers, and
attachments for composting,
forestry, biomass recovery, and
wood-waste processing. For more
