LUMBER PROCESSING

Hutchinson, (Coolrain Sawmills)
at Ligna 2017
This spring Brødbæk received
a project order for a line for
resawing, bundling & stacking to
be completed for the next fencing
season.
A toast to Ireland
I
t is characteristic for the last 3-4
years that almost all the project
orders for Brødbæk & Co. are
developed with customers who
have realized the need for higher
effectivity and higher yield.
The Irish sawmillers know this
more than most. They have the UK
as their most important market,
and 80% of the sales are done in
pounds. Directly after the decision
for Brexit the pound has dropped
approx 15%.
As a direct consequence, the
development of several investment
projects was moved forward and
decisions to realize them were
accelerated. Brødbæk & Co. see
the signs of an Irish Spring 2018 –
lately even for an Irish year 2018.
Brødbæk are very much aware
of the fact that it is preferable to
have a good mix of projects for
existing customers as well as for
new customers. However below is
a short presentation of three Irish
project orders for Brødbæk & Co.
from very well-known customers:
Coolrain Sawmills Ltd.
Brødbæk & Co. have a history with

This spring the company received
a significant project order for
refurbishment of the entire Laois
sawmill. The project is to be
handed over in 2019.
The first two steps are
completed together with Brødbæk
& Co. After that, Coolrain made
a reference visit at one of our
German customers Holtmeyer &
Sohn GmbH in Germany to see their
line for 3D scanning, tray sorting,
trimming, stacking & strapping of
short pallet boards.
This has resulted in a project
order for Brødbæk & Co. covering
the third investment step.
A contract for this order was signed
at a LIGNA 2017.
