LUMBER PROCESSING SCANNING & OPTIMISATION – JÖRG ELEKTRONIK JORO-X JORO-X is supplied as standard with one or two X-ray planes. Optionally an extension to 3D and 4D results is possible. X-ray scanner - Detection of internal wood qualities J ORO-X is a further development in the field of X-ray technology for log yards and sawmills. The overall system has its source in the cooperation of the round-wood specialists Jörg Elektronik and FINNOS. Decades of experience in measuring wood are the foundation for this system, combining laser scanner technology and X-ray technology. JORO-X is delivered in a 20-foot container, which can be quickly installed, even in existing plants. X-ray beams go through the wood and provide data of inner qualities. Bundling the gained data with customer specific guidelines, optimization can be performed. After that, results are presented in the user interface on one screen. The system allows an optimization of wood yield at high throughput. Maximum accuracy and optimization in wood processing become increasingly decisive. Millimeter accuracy in recognizing and calculation lead to a maximum yield of wood. 30 International Forest Industries | AUGUST / SEPTEMBER 2017 JORO-3D True shape scanner for logs A surrounding high-speed 3D camera system continuously scans the laser light band around the object of measurement. Unbroken recording of the measurement points allows an evaluation of the measured object without calculation or interpolation. The wood is evaluated and shaped according to the actual measured values. JORO-3D does not need any interruption in the conveyor and no mechanical reconstruction. Integrated electronic allows a maximum conveyor speed of up to 240 m/min without performance loss. Evaluation of data is done in real time. The continuous recording of the complete surface allows an optimum measurement of ovality, taper, curvature and sweep, independent of the position of the log and the measuring position. JORO-3D
