Economy at scale

Engines don ’ t have to be small to show maximum efficiency

In today ’ s challenging climate , efficiency and uptime are vital to staying competitive . In order to meet the needs of customers , John Deere has made a dedicated effort to provide customers with reliable equipment equipped with innovative features . This was evident in the G-Series Harvesters , which were launched in Europe in October 2015 and in North America last April , and the new G-Series mid-size Forwarders .

Consisting of three models – the 1270G six-wheel , 1270G eightwheel and 1470G – the G-Series models were designed based on customer feedback to produce a powerful and efficient machines ideal for all types of terrains . One of the most notable features on the new machines are the updated control systems , including the Processing Power Control ( PPC ) and TimberMatic H-16 control systems , which improve operator efficiency , precision and controllability . Operators are noting the changes , with 1470G Harvester
owner and operator Tommy Grytegård , LT Skogsavverkniing AB , noting , “ John Deere has been really successful in developing control systems . It is really impressive how well all the functions of the 1470G work together .”
The mid-size G-Series Forwarders , including the 1110G , 1210G and 1510G models , are equipped with the TimberMatic F-16 control system , featuring a configurable user interface , cruise control and inclination display . The addition of the TimberMatic F-16 system improves operational reliability .
Processing Power Control ( PPC ) System In the woods , it is vital for operators to optimize machines to best handle the job at hand . The innovative PPC system on the 1270G and 1470G harvesters enables operators to select between three different power levels , choosing the most suitable level based on the tree size ,
optimizing fuel economy . To utilize the PPC system , the operator selects one of three options – Energy Saving , Normal or Boost Mode – and the system does the rest of the work . Energy Saving Mode minimizes fuel consumption for smaller stems that do not require maximum power . Normal mode , the machine default setting ,
