available , production of quality woodchippings at final grain sizes P31 or G50 is possible without further ado .
The Jenz blade system , which has been proven over many years , continues to be used and stands out thanks to its extremely low wear costs . This means that the H1 drum has a new design overall , but it is based on a combination of established drum shapes and innovative , new considerations .
In addition to the new chipper drum , further optimisations in the outfeed process have resulted in increased woodchipping quality . “ The drum including the cut quality and outflow of the woodchippings is extremely important , but the outfeed process also plays an important role in the quality of the woodchippings ,” according to Hempen-Hermeier .
The hydraulically-driven blower with its five blades is therefore now fitted to the HEM 821 Z as standard . Use of this blower not only enables energy-saving woodchipping outfeed , but also minimises the fines content .
This is made possible by the variably-adjustable blower speed , which allows adaptation to the outfeed distance currently required . Furthermore , the speed can be reduced at the same discharge quantity and distance thanks to the changed impeller and the large size of the hydraulic motor .
The delivery pipe , which has a flow-optimised parabolic shape , additionally reduces the creation of fines content when discharging the woodchippings . The friction at the delivery pipe is reduced to a minimum thanks to the shape .
This not only means that the discharged material is loaded overhead more gently , but also means that the service life of the delivery pipe wear plates is considerably increased .
It wasn ’ t just visitors to the French trade fair who were able to convince themselves of all these innovative solutions for improving the woodchipping quality , selected French customers were also taken on a subsequent presentation tour , according to the manufacturer .
There were positive evaluations of the new Jenz developments during the processing of chestnut wood .
“ Quality woodchippings were produced for a combined heat and power plant during the demonstration . The requirements placed on the energy source by the owner were clearly defined and stipulated lower fines content and coarse woodchippings ” reported Christophe Mazoyer .
“ The customers were extremely satisfied . The combination of Xerion and HEM 821 Z convinced them both because of the woodchipping quality and also the improved drive concept .”
