The CBI 754 disc chipper designed for extended life and reduced maintenance. The chipper housing design maximizes airflow and force to guarantee a smooth discharge of wood chips with more than enough velocity to pack any trailer. The end and vertical chute designs have been tweaked so there’s no resistance to wood chips and never an issue with the chute clogging. Beyond its strength, the 754 has an Olympian cardiovascular system that keeps it running at a superior pace. “Both the hydraulic and electrical systems work in harmony to feed the machine exactly the way it needs to be fed,” said Nate Fuller, product lead for flails and disc chippers at CBI. “You can hear it in the engine, it processes endless loads and doesn’t break a sweat – all while throwing a full stream of quality wood chips into a trailer.” Unity with the 604 Flail Debarker Contractors producing paper- quality chips are going to have to debark anyways, which is why the 754 was designed specifically to work in unison with the industry’s most rugged delimber and debarker. The 754 Disc Chipper has a ‘stinger’ that slides out and hitches to CBI’s 604 Flail debarking machine, making it readily compatible for advanced standards of logging contractors who want to debark and chip in a single pass. An optional piece to this flail debarker is the fully-equipped Tigercat T-215 knuckle boom loader. Powered by a 4.4 litre CAT engine, the T-215 gives machine operators the capability to load more wood per grapple and to make better use of machine uptime. The 604 Flail’s four-roll flail design provides optimum contact with wood to deliver maximum debarking action. A heavy chain curtain wipes debris clear from logs before leaving the flail chamber. Bark debris is discharged by a hydraulically-actuated push ram that forces debris from under the machine. Owners have the option of 52 International Forest Industries | APRIL / MAY 2017 We had a customer tell us they never thought they would see a disc chipper fill a van in the woods in less than 10 minutes Aaron Murray, CBI adding either a wheel-mounted or track-mounted version of the disc chipper. The 754’s design and heavy duty D7 Berco tracks give it optimum mobility and capacity to tow itself and the 604 Flail, so a separate tractor isn’t needed. Together, the 754 and 604 can be transported down logging roads to reduce downtime and skidder travel distance. CBI was the first to synchronize the disc chipper and flail to a single control system that can be operated from one radio remote. 7544 Flail & Disc Chipper a standalone combination A synthesis of the CBI Magnum Force Flail 604 and the CBI Magnum Force 754 Disc Chipper, the newly released 7544 Flail/Disc Chipper combo offers a standalone solution for foresters who need maximum debarking and high- quality chip production all in one unit. The machine comes standard with three flails and the option to add a fourth for whole tree debarking. The 7544 is 53 ft long, whereas the 604 and 754 combo is 72 ft 4 in. Visit us on Stand 340
