BEATRIX
Beatrix was born on a farm in England in 1936 , just before the beginning of WW2 . Beatrix remembers the bombs and planes of the war and the German prisoners of war who worked on their farm , who were “ gentle and friendly ”. Beatrix loved this time , when brother Alan and sisters Pat and Barbara were born . As the oldest child , Beatrix used to ride a ‘ scruffy ’ pony and loved riding in the natural world of their farm life . “ As a teenager , I grew quite plump … I didn ’ t feel pretty and sexy ”. In 1956 , Beatrix attended medical school , later transferring to dentistry and met her boyfriend and future husband . Dropping out of dentistry , Beatrix and her husband had a baby boy in 1961 , followed by a baby girl in 1962 . In 1963 , Beatrix and her family emigrated to Australia , where they lived in Canberra and later moved to Melbourne . Leaving her husband in 1976 , Beatrix studied Occupational Therapy and began working as a Social Health Visitor for Mental Health Services . Beatrix met her second husband in 1993 , who later passed away in 2015 . Beatrix enjoys painting and spending time with her family and grandchildren .
BRENDA
Brenda was born in country Victoria . Having put her age up a couple of years , she started working in the local cannery at 13 , although still attending school . Three years later , seeking a broader education , Brenda went on the itinerant track , working up and down the east coast of Australia for her remaining teenage years . While stopped in St . Kilda to care for a young brother in the late 1950s , Brenda fell pregnant and then became a founding member of Council for the Single Mother and Child . With new responsibilities , Brenda completed high school and went to university . Qualifying as a Psychiatric Social Worker , Brenda worked in the Children ’ s Court Clinic for 25 years and developed a program for step parents involved with the Court . Brenda wrote a book , Travels With Grandma , with her dyslexic grandson , who can now read anything . Brenda was inducted into the Victorian Honour Roll of Women in 2011 . Brenda believes that life is for living , and that everyone has a story to tell . When the fruit has to be picked , we are all equal . On participating in All the Sex , Brenda says “ I thought it was time to learn a new skill . At this stage of my life , the stage beckoned . How could I refuse ?”
LIONEL
Lionel is 68 and was born and raised in Hamilton , Victoria by his grandparents . After schooling in Ballarat , Lionel moved in 1966 to work as a technician trainee in Melbourne . Lionel attended University in 1969 and then again 1975 — 78 , graduating with a Design degree , and has since worked many jobs including with Melbourne Theatre Company , various roles in radio , theatre , as a café owner and in disability services . Lionel ran the opera / arts reviewing website The Opera Boys from 1994 — 2017 . Lionel ’ s first boyfriend was in 1969 , and he has been with his current boyfriend for 12 years . Lionel sees sex as exciting , has been storing memories for a lifetime and feels this show is the right time and place to share them .
