“Why should a parent bring
their child to our hospital?”
Over the last two years, we posed this question to more than 100 Children’s
Colorado physicians. Their answers are almost always the same: instead of
touting their own, singular achievements, they praise their team’s ability to treat
nearly any condition affecting a child.
That team-centered care makes the difference for our patients and families. And
it gets results. Our PICU demonstrates some of the best outcomes in quality and
safety in the country. Our NICU has gone over one year without a central line
infection. Our cardiac surgery team achieved a 100 percent 30-day survival rate
for heart transplants. We reached a 97 percent 100-day survival rate for bone
marrow transplants.
That’s the culture of different.
