The B/G storm wrestled against Parkston at Gregory on January 8. The team lost with a total score of 34-48.
Frank Even won against Austin Bartelt by a fall at 0:54. Finn Hanson also won against his opponent, Logan Heidinger by a fall at 1:37. Mason Hood lost against Landon Sudbeck by a fall at 3:30. Taron Serr lost too against Dawson Semmler by a fall at 1:20.
Ridge Oliver, Jeremiah Beck, Tyler Murray and Jackson Eklund won against their opponents. Emilio Chimenti, Rhoss Oliver and Owen Hansen lost.
B/G storm qualified 7 wrestlers for state at Regions on January 17.
Jackson Eklund placed 1st in the 132 weight class. Jeremiah Beck also got the 1st place in the 182 weight class. Ridge Oliver placed 2nd in the 285 class. Rhoss Oliver got 3rd place in the 195 category.
Finn Hanson also placed 3rd in the 145 class. He fought against Tony Bruguier from Wagner, Landon Sivertsen from Miller/Highmore-Harold, Spencer Hanson from Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes. Finn wrestled Zach Johnson on his last fight. He won by decision, giving him 3rd place.
Owen Hansen placed 4th in the 106 weight class. And Jordan Vosika also got the 4th place, in the 126 weight category.
Tyler Murray, Luke Murray, Taron Serr and Mason Hood also wrestled in their weight class, but didn't make it to state.

The Wrestling Team Qualify For State

Seven Burke/Gregory wrestlers traveled to Sioux Falls to compete at the State Wrestling competition on February 23 and 24. Both Class A and B took place there.
Finn Hanson lost against Landon Sivertsen on his first match. His second match was against Kaden Laubach and Finn won. On his third and final match he lost against Phil Fitch.
Jeremiah Beck placed 4th and Jackson Eklund got 2nd place. The whole team placed 12th at the Class B competition.
Owen Hansen, Ridge Oliver, Rhoss Oliver and Jordan Vosika also competed but didn't get any place.
Finn Hanson commented, "We had 7 great wrestlers make it to state and they all performed great. I would like to thank all the fans/JV wrestlers for supporting us that weekend. It was a memorable and fun season, and I can't wait for next year."
