COLLEGE
AFFORDABILITY
COLLEGE TUITION
HAS INCREASED
By the time today’s ninth-grade students enroll in
college, a four-year degree will cost more than
$80,000 at a public college or university and more
than $200,000 at a private institution. ** Unfortu-
nately, financial aid has not kept up with this esca-
lation. The selection of an affordable college —
one that combines good career outcomes with
manageable student loan debt — is critical to our
student’s journey toward social mobility.
