Years 1996-99 Years 1991-94
Mack remains one of the most dominant softball
players in Peach Belt Conference history. From
1996-99 she was a two-time All-American,
four-time All-Region and four-time PBC All-
Conference selection. She remains the PBC
career record holder in doubles and was named
the 1996 PBC Rookie of the Year.
Inducted into the Lander Athletics Hall of Fame
in 2011, Mack had a career .433 batting average
which led the PBC until 2012. She was named
the team Most Valuable Player three times
and holds the Landers school records for total
bases, runs scored, hits and doubles. Her jersey
number 33 was retired by Lander.
Simpson was a key part of the Lander men’s
tennis dynasty and won four straight national
championships. A part of the team as they
transitioned from the NAIA into NCAA Division
II in Peach Belt from 1991-94, he was inducted
into the Lander Athletics Hall of Fame in 2002.
A native of Sydney, Australia, he joined Lander
as they finished their NAIA days with a pair of
national titles and helped the Bearcats to the
first two of their eight consecutive national
championships in 1993 and 1994. Named the
PBC Player of the Year in 1994, he was a three-
time All-American and won the 1994 NCAA
Division II doubles national championship.
