BACK-TO-BACK PEACH BELT CHAMPIONS! GEORGIA COLLEGE WINS 2018 PBC TOURNAMENT
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The No. 6 Georgia College Baseball team (43-10) completed the sweep of
weekend action with a 7-5 victory over No. 25 USC Aiken (35-19) Sunday, the Bobcats winning their
second-straight Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament Championship.
Georgia College takes its fourth PBC Tournament title and the third in the last four seasons. The
Bobcats went 3-0 in Pool A, beating Lander University, the University of North Georgia and No. 17
UNC Pembroke to advance to the title game with the Pacers.
The Bobcats are just the third back-to-back tourney champions in conference history, and the first
since Kennesaw State University in 1997 and 1998.
As they have all tournament long, the Bobcats jumped out to an early lead, leading 5-1 after five.
Leftfielder Brandt Stallings (Buford, Georgia) got the scoring started with an RBI double as part of the
two-run second. The Bobcats scored in every inning save the first and sixth.
All-PBC reliever Bradly Cammack (Soperton) got the start Sunday, and couldn’t have picked a
better time for the first complete game of his Bobcat career. He handcuffed the Pacer batters, was
dominant for the first six innings, helping the team get that early 5-1 lead.
Cammack finished with five runs on 12 hits, scattering runners right and left. He fanned four to
improve to 12-2 on the season.
Cammack joined first baseman Matthew Miller (San Diego, California) and rightfielder Wesley
Wommack (Monroe, Georgia) on the PBC All-Tournament Team. Wommack also earned tournament
MVP honors.
