NORTH GEORGIA WINS FIRST
PBC LEAGUE OF LEGENDS
CHAMPIONSHIP!
The University of North Geor-
gia captured the first-ever PBC
League of Legends Champion-
ship on Sunday night in Milled-
geville, Ga. The Nighthawks de-
feated Georgia College 3-1 in the
best-of-five final; the champion-
ship was the first of its kind in
the nation as the PBC is the first
NCAA conference to present a
league title for Esports. minutes, North Georgia was
on defense as Georgia College
opted for speed and attacked
constantly. The Nighthawks
were outstanding on defense,
but unable to mount an effec-
tive counterattack and eventu-
ally succumbed. UNG bounced
back with a more aggressive
approach in game four to cap-
ture the crown.
The Nighthawks won the first
two games in less than 30
minutes. Game three was the
showcase and best of the entire
tournament. Spanning over 45 Both teams will now advance to
the North American League of
Legends Collegiate Champion-
ship. Representing the Peach
Belt, they will join representa-

tives of the Big Ten Network
championship and 12 teams
from the four regional confer-
ences that play in the League of
Legends national field. Those 16
teams will play two weekends
of playoffs starting in April, with
the final four meeting the four
winners of the regional con-
ferences. The four teams who
win there will advance to the
national championship tour-
nament in Los Angeles, Calif.,
in June.
