Welcome to Yellowhead County!
On behalf of Yellowhead County, I would like to welcome you to our
community – a large and diverse area that stretches from the Pembina
River and the Cowboy Trail in the east to the Northern Rockies near
Jasper Park and the Cardinal Divide in the west where many of the early
explorers began to make their final leg of the journey across what is now
Canada.
This is an exciting year as we celebrate Canada’s 150th across the
country and welcome guests from all over the world to our backyards.
We are proud to be part of this area’s rich and diverse history –
participating in the stories that have helped develop Yellowhead
County into what it is today – and we’ll be happy to help create the
stories that we’ll be telling for generations to come.
With abundant open wilderness, lush agricultural areas, and countless lakes, rivers and
streams, this is an area of the province we’re happy to call our home! Yellowhead County
has something for anyone wanting to explore some of the most majestic and eclectic
landscapes Canada has to offer. Opportunities exist for hiking, biking, camping, fishing,
hunting, snowmobiling, quadding, skiing, and numerous community festivals and events.
