Dear Friends ,
It is my honor to welcome you to Heart of Gold , the 107th Anniversary Charity Ball .
Your participation in this year ’ s Charity Ball will help our beneficiary , the Crisis Stabilization Unit ( CSU ) at Rady Children ’ s Hospital-San Diego , continue and expand its much-needed and comprehensive medical , mental and behavioral health services for children and adolescents who are experiencing a mental health crisis . The CSU works closely with children and their families to promote healing while empowering the children to care for themselves during and after treatment .
Tonight ’ s Charity Ball , honoring Ernest and Evelyn Rady and their Canadian heritage , is the culmination of the 107th Anniversary Charity Ball Committee ’ s work to maintain the tradition of San Diego ’ s oldest philanthropic event and to increase our community ’ s awareness of Rady Children ’ s Hospital and its mission to provide exceptional mental and physical treatment to children in need .
My sincere thanks go to the supportive staff of Rady Children ’ s Hospital , the Hospital Foundation and to the enthusiastic and dedicated committee of volunteers and their families who gave of their time and talent to ensure tonight ’ s success . I would especially like to thank our long-time patrons for their enduring support and to welcome our new friends to the Charity Ball family . A heartfelt thank you to our Canadian friends joining us tonight .
The future of our community ’ s children will be all the brighter and promising because of your generous support , and I extend sincere gratitude to all attendees , sponsors , advertisers , box patrons and donors .
Your generosity provides a lifeline to hope , healing and brighter futures for our most vulnerable children and their families . Thank you for your “ Heart of Gold .”
With warmest wishes ,
Ellen Moxham , Ph . D . Chairman , 107th Anniversary Charity Ball
