A Dream Come

Sixteen years ago, the [ Children of Jesus ] missionaries from United States came to my church in Ventanilla for the first time. Even though we could barely communicate because of the language barrier, the 3 days of sharing the joy and the love of God as they served the children were the most cherished memories of my life.
This experience awoke in me a passion to share the good news with other people and I wanted to take the message of love and salvation to Peruvian children. I started to pray that God will make me a missionary as well. In 16 years, I have seen many mission teams come and bless Peru both materialistically and spiritually, but God did not answer my prayers for me to join them.
However, in 2016, I was hired by the Hanhee Kim World Mission Center and they gave me the task to lead the young adults in the Riverside Tree ministry to be a part of the Vacation Bible School program with the mission team in Iquitos. I could barely contain my enthusiasm!
Everything I had experience as a child, I was now a part of a missionary team, finally! But my excitement soon turned to frustration. We had just two months to prepare all the materials for the mission trip. It was a great challenge for the young missionaries to study at school and at same time raising their funds for the trip.
We had a B. B. Q sell and other fund raising activities. But, there was a moment where we all wondered if we could accomplish anything with the all the obstacles we faced. There was nothing to do but go to God in prayer. Then, our God showed favor upon us.
God met our needs by stirring other people’ s heart to give a mission offering for us. God’ s provision was always on time and always the best. I was blessed to meet and work with these youth. They were willing to obey to the call to fulfill the Great Commission and give all they had for Christ!
Soon enough, we had everything prepared in a timely manner and we were all boarding a plane
