Casa Hogar Orphanage

The tender love of a mother is something a child will never forget. Regardless of the circumstances and conditions, nothing could ever erase the memory of gentleness and warmth that only a mother’ s touch can provide.

This is one of the few memories young Guille( short for Guillermo) has of his mother, Sandra. His mother, along with hundreds of poor women in the area, struggled to make a sustainable living. He remembers how his mother had to work two jobs to support him and his two older brothers. She would wake up early in the morning to go to the store where she helped to make bricks. She worked there for twelve hours a day where she made twenty-eight soles( eight dollars).
Afterwards, Sandra hurried over to another store where she manufactured floor wax. By the time Sandra arrives home, her three children were already deep in sleep. Sandra prepares breakfast for Guille and his brothers before taking a short rest and repeating her day again. After some time, Sandra saved up enough to purchase a tricycle and used it to sell food at night.

The Silent cry of a Child

Guille remembers the pain in his mother’ s heart. Sandra, who was married three times, was hopeful to find true love, but all she found was betrayal. Her first husband( father of Adrian) promised the family of her dreams. He deceived her and left her while Sandra was pregnant. Her second husband( father of Jorge) promised he would be different. He was different, but not in the good way, he would often beat Sandra to the point where she started to have mental lapses. Guille does not remember his father( Sandra’ s third husband) nor does he know anything about him. Guille only knows his father also deserted Sandra. Guille does remembers depression and sorrow that tormented his mother daily.
