Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) Voice
Awards program exists.
It recognizes consumer/peer leaders whose personal
stories and advocacy for inclusive communities are
transformative. It honors entertainment industry
professionals whose creative and impactful storytelling
educates our society about mental and substance use
disorders on a broad scale.
In 2016, the awards program will focus on the role that
family support—between parents, children, spouses/
partners, siblings, and other close family relationships—
play in inspiring hope and resilience for people
experiencing a mental and/or substance use disorder.
And making recovery possible.
