2015 COMMUNITY TENNIS HIGHLIGHTS
USTA brought tennis to major community events that included the Great Aloha Run Health and Fitness Expo, YMCA Healthy Kids Day, YMCA Sports Camp, ESPN Kids Fest, and Youth Day at the Capitol. The Hawaii Pacific University Men’ s volunteered for Youth Day at the Capitol where we created a battery of tennis courts on Punchbowl Street.

SUMMER FUN TENNIS

Summer Fun Tennis introduced over 1,000 kids to tennis at the local parks. A 27-year partnership between the City & County of Honolulu and USTA, organizes teams of coaches to visit 20 public park sites. Coaches were David Holt, Kyle Shimabukuro, Robbie Char, Shane Cashen, Tristan Kaanohi, Joseph Almuena, Karly Pang, Jordan Kakugawa and James Kakugawa.

PLAY DAYS

Play Days are designed to give kids additional court time in a fun, low pressure, non-elimination setting where they can continue to develop and enhance their skills. For both novices and more experienced players, Play Days allow kids to experience the social and competitive aspects of tennis. Play Days promote a sense of achievement through a fun and spirited atmosphere.
