2015 COMMUNITY TENNIS HIGHLIGHTS Kahiau: A Tennis Foundation is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, partner and the fund raising arm of the United States Tennis Association Hawaii Pacific Section. The mission of Kahiau is to promote the growth of tennis in Hawaii to youth, adults, and special populations by helping to fund programs conducted by the USTA Hawaii Pacific Section as well as other tennis organizations in the community. 2015 JUNIOR TENNIS CHAMPIONS CENTER SUMMER CAMP SCHOLARSHIP SUMMER FUN TENNIS These 3 top juniors were chosen to be sent to the Junior Tennis Champions Center to train with some of the nation’s best players and coaches. FAMILY DOUBLES In its 7th year, the Family Fun Doubles Tournament is the only parent/child competition in the Section. Held at C.O.R.P tennis facility, with over 35 teams in 4 different divisions, it was a family fun event for all. Results: Division A: Jerry and Warren Domingo - Champions Division B: Marlon and Marlon Abarca - Champions Division C: Bino and Mark Fitzgerald - Champions Green Ball Division: Yunan and Justin Lu - Champions USTA brought tennis to major community events that included the Great Aloha Run Health and Fitness Expo, YMCA Healthy Kids Day, YMCA Sports Camp, ESPN Kids Fest, and Youth Day at the Capitol. The Hawaii Pacific University Men’s volunteered for Youth Day at the Capitol where we created a battery of tennis courts on Punchbowl Street. School Tennis visited Guam this year and held seven school workshops, servicing over 2,000 children and training over 80 teachers!
