fellow horseman once said to me , “ If your story don ’ t involve a horse , don ’ t bother telling me about it .” I have to say I share that sentiment in most cases . Nothing causes me to “ prick my ears ” quite like an equine feel-good story .
There is one group of Mini owners who have powerfully optimistic stories to tell about their horses that beat mine hands down for inspiration and sentiment . These individuals use their Miniature horses in therapy situations and as a group are simply on fire right now with popularity , reveling in the affirmative effects of Mini horse interaction . Whether in a group or as an individual team , their work exposes thousands of people to the love of the Miniature horse , many of whom would have never encountered a mini otherwise . And these volunteers do it all out of the goodness of their hearts . I can think of no other area in our industry that needs more recognition . What the world needs now is more Mini love , right ? After a call out on Facebook , a good many respondents shared the what , when and where of the mini therapy work they do and we ’ ve shared them in this issue . These people are awesome , and if you are doing this work or know someone who is , please tell them about the AMHA Mini Hours Rewards Program . It is one way the AMHA can recognize and show it ’ s
