Sherry Gile and Baneys Royal Night Breeze Sherry Gile and “Beauty” achieved their 100 hour goal in 2014 and continued to add to their time together, achieving the 500 hour plateau in early 2015. Obviously these two spend a lot of time together. Beauty loves to drive and jump. Sherry and Beauty can be seen taking long drives through their hometown of Penrose, Colorado - weather permitting. Beauty thrives on attention and many people stop to admire and pet her during these outings. Sherry and Beauty also attend a few local shows offered by the small mini club in their area. Beauty was shown by many children this year who didn’t have a horse of their own to show. Sherry also attended one AMHA show this year with Beauty placing very well in all her classes bringing home many ribbons in both jumping and driving. Carolyn Menzer and Urban Acres Mr T Heartthrob Sherry Gile and Mulligans Run Dream Thistle N Thorn Sherry and “Chaser” logged many hours practicing in their obstacle course at home. Taking his training one step further, this year they also began ground driving with the goal of getting into the full harness and cart sometime in the near future. His halter training has progressed and he placed well at the local club shows, even placing second at their year- end awards! Chaser is a bit of a show off and loves to be the center of attention wherever he goes. 34 Miniature Horse World A P R I L / M AY 2016 Urban Acres Mr T Heartthrob, aka. Sparky, is an easy going, up for anything kind of horse. And it’s a good thing, because owner Carolyn Menzer believes in trying a bit of everything at the horse shows she and Sparky attend. This year the duo tackled an AMHA show where they won not only the Costume class but placed in Halter Color class as well. Carolyn’s favorite class is Costume, but she and Sparky also spend much of their time together training for obstacle. Continued on page 36
