CAREER CONNECTIONS PROGRAM
Tiffany Chau recently discovered that she doesn’ t want to be a pharmacist. Giving up that longtime dream was difficult, but Tiffany knows she still wants to pursue a career related to public health.
Austin Perez is a big believer in giving back to his community. He too seeks to gain professional experience in the health care field.
What better way for Tiffany and Austin to explore their career interests than by interning with McKesson Corporation, the oldest and largest health care company in the nation?
Thanks to Meritus’ partnership with McKesson, Tiffany and Austin were both offered paid internships in the summer of 2016. Their experiences in the public affairs and marketing departments were, in Tiffany’ s words,“ incredible.” Summer internships allow our Scholars to access critical career exploration, network expansion, and professional skill-building— positioning them for post-graduation success.
The benefits for our corporate partners are no less significant. Through these partnerships, businesses have the opportunity to diversify their workforce, simplify summer recruitment, and develop future company leaders. We frequently hear that Meritus Scholars are among the best interns an organization has ever had.
