Supporting the Kiawah Conservancy : Our Donors
October 26 , 2017 , will mark the twentieth anniversary of the Kiawah Conservancy ’ s organization as a grassroots entity dedicated to maintaining a unique balance between nature and development on Kiawah Island . From the small group that gathered in 1997 at David Elliott ’ s kitchen table , we have matured into a major participant in leadership of the Island . We count on the generosity of our donors who make it all possible . They give property to be preserved forever in its natural state . They give their time , their energy , and their resources . Listen to the words of two of our very special donors :

“ Being part of the Kiawah community is a special gift . As you approach the Island you experience the serenity of paradise with a balance of nature and families creating memories . When I was a part-time resident I did not fully appreciate how unique living in Kiawah was .
“ Two years ago Kiawah became my permanent home , and now I fully realized the priceless surrounding we live in . My passion to share this message with our homeowners was reinforced once I joined the Conservancy as a trustee . I now fully appreciate the partnerships and the financial support we need to preserve nature in tandem with respectful development for our next 20 years on the Island .”
