Island Highlights
Legacy Ball The Legacy Ball is our only fundraiser of the year . It is an occasion to share a special evening with friends , learn more about the work of the Conservancy , bid on outstanding auction items in both silent and live auctions , and celebrate our efforts to preserve and enhance Kiawah Island and its unique blend of nature and development . Save November 12 , 2017 , for the 2017 Legacy Ball . We are celebrating our twentieth year , and this will be one very special party .

Land Trust Accreditation In February 2017 , the Kiawah Conservancy achieved Land Trust Accreditation from the Land Trust Accreditation Commission . This recognition is the result of more than two years of work during the complex application process . With accreditation the Conservancy joins a select group of land trusts across the country that demonstrate their commitment to professional excellence and to maintaining the public ’ s trust in their work .
Accreditation demonstrates the Kiawah Conservancy ’ s commitment to national quality standards for nonprofit management and land conservation . The lands we preserve will be protected forever , ensuring the natural habitats , wildlife , and beauty of these special places remain for the enjoyment of generations to come . We are a stronger organization for having gone through the rigorous accreditation program .
