Moving on, it gets even more complex. A foreign couple comes to the U.S. under the visa program, work or education, doesn't matter. While here they have a child. This child is referred to as an “anchor baby.” Technically the baby is born as a United States citizen and has the right to remain in the county. But what happens when it parents visas run out. Do they automatically get the right to stay in the country because of their “anchor baby?” Do we send them packing back to the country they are from baby and all?
We can't keep bringing people into our borders. There is only so much room in the inn. Look at China and Japan. They have actually put limits on the number of children you can have. Sounds bit barbaric to me. Would you want our government to have that kind of control in your personal life? Our economy can't withstand supporting illegal immigration at the pace it is at. Crime in its respective areas is greatly increased by the presence of illegals. And let's not forget terrorism. The more legal and illegal immigrants that cross our borders the greater the chance that terrorist will slip through the cracks. Now we have systems in place to try and prevent this from happening but that only takes care of the immigrate that enter legally. This is why we have tried to maintain a strong border security, at all points of entry. Simply bringing in thousands of refugees, and the illegal border crossing destroys our ability to cross check these immigrants and help keep our nation safe. We have enough problems to handle of our own. To bring in more outside problems does not make any sense.
