Dance Lessons- provided by OSU Country Western Dance Club Friday, August 12, 7:00 pm
The CWDC is one of OSU’ s premier student clubs, hosting dances for anyone who likes country western dancing, be it swing or two-step, cha-cha or schottische, line dancing or the waltz. The CWDC is committed to providing fun dances for people of all ages and experience levels. don’ t know how to dance? The club offers lessons at all of their dances, and officers and members are always available for one-on-one help.
CWDC Dances are high energy and fun for the whole family, so shine up your boots, polish up your moves, and come out for a night of good old fashioned fun!
Briana Renea- Country Singer / Songwriter Friday, August 12 8:30pm- 10:00pm
Briana Renea was born in Oregon and raised in the rural town of Canby. She grew up on a farm showing her cattle, horses and goats at local and state fairs. 4-H and FFA played a large part in shaping Briana’ s strong work ethic and moral grounding. Her love of singing and performing has always been in her blood. Her showmanship on stage was fostered and drawn out by studying at Barbizon’ s modeling and acting school. She grew up listening to country and classic rock, which greatly influenced her musical style, blending rock and country in a modern way.“ Fiery-haired Briana Renea wows her audiences with her down home country music with just a touch of Rock‘ n Roll influence.” ~ Gary Friedman, Clatsop County Fair Because of her upbringing, Briana’ s style of music is high energy a dynamic. It carries a story that can be identified by so many. Her sets are fun and upbeat with a mix of modern country and her own originals. She had a great summer last year touring the county fairs and festivals. While on tour, Briana was blessed to share the stage with Carrie Cunningham, Jackson Michelson, The Henningsens, Due West and Jason Michael Carroll.
Frank Carlson Saturday, August 13 11:00am- 1:00pm
Frank Carlson has been playing music here in Eastern Oregon for over 40 plus years. Back in the 1980’ s and 90’ s he played with the Tonemasters, a well-known group in Eastern Oregon. He decided to break away from the group and started playing music on his own since 2005. Frank Carlson was a first runner up in an American Idol type contest held in New Orleans put on by National Rural Electric Cooperative Association( NRECA) in 2007. Frank continues to play music and now has extended his playing area to include Idaho, Washington, and California. He plays a variety of music from George Strait, Alan Jackson, Roy Orbison, Merle Haggard, ZZ Top, Elvis Presley and many other artists. Frank resides in Baker City with his wife Anne.
