Delivering Dreams neig h b o r h o o ds Neighborhood entry signs, park benches and butterfly gardens may sound like minor projects. But, projects like these strengthen the fabric of our neighborhoods and build a sense of community pride. Delivering on the dreams of our residents, the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation has supported dozens of neighborhood- centered projects over the past decade including significant enhancements in the historic Parkview neighborhood. The Foundation helped Parkview neighbors install benches in honor of longtime residents, create a wildflower garden, add streetlights and replace a dilapidated fence. Shirley Patterson, who received a national award, says the Foundation’s contributions have been a critical part to the revitalization of her historic neighborhood. “We want to be a good example for the City and to demonstrate how an older neighborhood can reinvent and renovate itself,” Patterson said. “The Foundation came alongside us with financial support and much-needed encouragement.” Celebrating 10 years of Giving $18 Million Total funds awarded $10.2 $7.8 Million Million Grants awarded to City of Arlington departments Total number of grants: Grants awarded to charitable organizations 352 7
