As part of one of the oldest health systems in Houston , our roots in the community run deep . Catholic Health Initiatives ’ roots reach back even further — to a group of religious women who saw the need for care on the Western Frontier and took it upon themselves to raise the money needed to build hospitals . Today , we are CHI St . Luke ’ s Health , and what we do is simple : We take care of people .
St . Luke ’ s Foundation supports that work through philanthropy . We stand on the shoulders of those who have gone before as we usher in a new era of health care , going beyond the walls of our hospitals to create stronger , healthier communities .
We operate with transparency , integrity , skill , and a strong ethical foundation . And , as our system grows across Texas , so does our philanthropic organization . St . Luke ’ s Foundation is part of CHI Foundations of Texas , which encompasses fundraising for communities in the Greater Houston Area , Deep East Texas , and the Bryan / College Station area . In each region , we raise funds that stay within the community to impact the people we serve . But our pledge is the same throughout Texas — we treat every donor and each other with compassion , kindness , and respect .
