Downtown Community
Shows Support for
Dallas Police
Downtown Community Leader, Tanya Ragan, wanted to find a way to show her appreciation for the Dallas Police
officers who have been working hard to make downtown a safer place to live and work, so she decided to partner
with Mehdi Pezeshki, owner of the Purple Onion, to provide a meal for officers on each shift.
Community members and officers came together on Wednesday afternoon to mingle, eat pizza, and discuss the
progress being made downtown. Tanya Ragan made a point to greet every officer and say “Thank You.” Ragan
wanted to meet the officers face to face and let them know that they are appreciated. The Dallas Police Department
is always thankful for the support of the community and will continue to work hard on the Quality of Life Initiative.

The United Sikhs
Ride To The Vigil
Riders from the motorcycle club The United Sikhs gathered at the Dallas Police Headquarters Friday July 22, 2016,
around 5:30 p.m., in order to line up and organize, before riding off to the vigil. Approximately 30-40 riders showed up to
participate in the event who were greeted at Jack Evans Headquarters by grateful Dallas Police Officers. Once Gathered
the Club took some pictures and gave lots of hug to the officers, then it was time to ride off. The United Sikhs were seen
off by the officers at Headquarters to Garland Gurdwara Sahib to hold a Candlelight Vigil for Fallen Officers and present
a check in honor of Dallas fallen officers.
