CELEBRATION OF WORLD MIGRATORY BIRD DAY,
6 MAY 2017
We as the Biology Department, celebrated “World
Migratory Bird Day” to raise Prep students’ awareness on
birds’ roles in the sustainable environment. The activities
organized for the day are united by a common theme:
“Their future is our future” in 2017. As we share the same
planet with birds, the day highlights the interdependence
of people and nature especially migratory birds.
The students had a chance to practice with several
activities about types of migratory birds, general
information about bird migration, migration strategies
and hazards in this journey, couples migratory birds’
features pass from Turkey - in particular Erzurum, showing
their migration route on the map and bird-watching in
the campus.
In the light of international mindedness, our students
have started to feel themselves as a responsible member
of a community and a global citizen. In addition, they
developed and demonstrated their attributes of caring,
communication, thinking and open-minded, reflective,
inquirer personalities in the light of IGCSE & IB DP learner
profile.
