WVUSD: 2016/2017 Year-End Results
Introduction:
The Walnut Valley Unified School District (WVUSD) has continued to place primary focus on
Student Achievement as this supports one of the four District focus areas as well as a major
component of the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP). WVUSD teachers continue
to prepare all students with a rigorous and engaging K-12 instructional program that prepares
students to be College and Career Ready and to become contributing global citizens. During
the 2016/2017 school year, a major emphasis was placed on closing the achievement gap
within various groups. This was accomplished by the Educational Services Division
coordinating with Dr. Luis Cruz to work with all schools within WVUSD.
WVUSD has progressed in the following six objectives:
• Implement/Refine College and Career Readiness
• Close the Achievement Gap
• Deliver Collaboratively-Developed Curriculum and Instruction
• Develop the Whole Child
• Provide Professional Development
• Showcase Awards, Refining/Expanding Existing Programs, and Exploring Future
