WVUSD: 2016/2017 Year-End Results Area of Focus # 4: Leadership Development at All Levels of the Organization Goal: • Develop and expand leadership capacity throughout the organization. Objectives: • Continue to build an effective, cohesive Leadership Team throughout the District, including the recruitment of leaders at all levels of the organization • Sustain and/or increase leadership development opportunities at all levels of the organization, including community and students, while continuing the Leadership in 4 Directions focus • Further develop and provide leadership training for Common Core State Standards implementation and oversight, including curriculum development, instructional methodology, and mentoring • Secure resources to sustain the Leadership Development Seminar (including the culminating Gettysburg experience) • Provide leadership training for site-level leadership team members • Provide training for developing student leaders • Expand/differentiate employees utilized for District-level initiatives, thus providing personal growth opportunities in the area of leadership development • Provide leadership development for employees tasked with facilitating site-level collaboration meetings • Continue to support union leadership development • Expand diversity training for adults and students • Develop a formalized support system for new leaders at the site and district levels • Continue to develop “Learning Walks” … both within and outside Walnut Valley 41
