Lamar State College Port Arthur 2016-2017 Catalog Revised 9-13-16 After completion of a degree or certificate program, students will have successfully completed all required courses, will have accrued the required clock hours of training and will possess knowledge and skills enabling him or her to pass an examination administered by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations. A licensed cosmetology instructor in good standing in the State of Texas may be awarded 20 semester credit hours toward an A.A.S. degree in Cosmetology Instructor. See the “Credit by Examination” section of this catalog for more information. Students who complete the Esthetics programs will gain the skills and accumulate sufficient hours of training to be qualified to take and pass applicable examinations administered by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations.
