to assure the safety and health of students and
employees, the College seeks to maintain a work and
learning environment free of the unlawful
manufacture, distribution, possession or use of a
controlled substance or the abuse of alcohol. Drug
and alcohol abuse affects the responsible conduct of
business, teaching and learning and therefore will

Electronic Device Policy
Electronic devices (such as cell phones, MP3 players
and laptops) may not be used during tests unless
specifically allowed by the instructor, or if the Office
of Disability Services Coordinator determines that a
device is an acceptable accommodation for a physical

mental
disability.
Under

other
circumstances, the use of an electronic device during
a test is considered “academic dishonesty” and will
result in appropriate sanctions as outlined in the

Dishonesty”).
Use of electronic devices during normal class hours
distracts other students, disrupts the class and
wastes valuable time. The syllabus for every LSCPA
course includes that instructor’s policy regarding the
use of electronic devices during class.
