WVUSD: 2014-2015 Year-End Results __________________________________________________________________________________________________  Preface Over the past two years, and following a thorough data gathering process, the Walnut Valley Unified School District Superintendent, Board of Trustees, and staff have established clear areas of focus for the district that advance educational excellence and increase opportunities for all students. In turn, Cabinet and staff have been charged with the responsibility of further developing and implementing these areas of focus through specific goals and objectives, as well as reporting the progress made in reaching these goals at our annual Year-End Review Study Session. During the past year, the Walnut Valley Unified School District concentrated on four areas of focus, thus adding one area (Leadership Development) to the previous three areas of focus. These focus areas are listed below with the corresponding goal for easy reference:  Student Achievement – Prepare all students with a rigorous and engaging K-12 instructional program to meet the high expectations of College and Career Readiness to empower students to become contributing global citizens.  Strengthening Relationships –- Develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships based upon trust, respect, communication, and collaboration among colleagues, students, parents, and community members.  Fiscal Stability – Continue to improve and maintain the financial integrity of all support service unit components relative to the district budget to ensure that every student can achieve academic success.  Leadership Development – Develop and expand leadership capacity throughout the organization. The following WVUSD: 2014-15 Year-End Results reflects the diligent efforts of staff to provide a status report to the Board of Trustees and community on the district’s continual efforts in meeting the goals and accompanying objectives in each of the areas of focus. The report includes a brief introduction, a detailed summary focused on each of the goals, supporting objectives, and recommendations for future focus. At the end of the report is a document that summarizes the reflections and assessments of the year from the Board of Trustees, all Leadership Team members, and a parent/community group. It includes what they consider to be the district’s highlights and challenges for the year, along with future recommendations. Commendations to our Leadership Team for both their contributions and participation in a very successful school year. Cabinet, division directors, and our site administrators, would like to express our sincere appreciation for the Board’s guidance, collaboration, and support. We believe that, through your leadership, we have crafted a sound monitoring practice designed to provide a clear direction and mutual vision for the future of the Walnut Valley Unified School District. __________________ Walnut Valley Unified School District i __________________
