Nestor Falls The Nestor Falls area has a well-earned reputation as one of the finest fishing and hunting locations in North America. So much so, that in 2010 Nestor Falls was voted as the World Fishing Network's ultimate fishing town in the Ontario region, and placed second as the “Ultimate Fishing Town Contest” in all of Canada. Quite a feat for this little tourist town on the shores of Lake of the Woods! It is not hard to imagine why when you realize Nestor Falls sits in the midst of literally dozens of lakes. These lakes are teeming with Canada's most sought after game fish; walleye, bass, lake trout, crappie, perch, northern pike and muskie. The muskie in these lakes have become a fish of such grandeur that the Nestor Falls area is known to many as the muskie capital of the world. Lakes such as Lake of the Woods, Crow (Kakagi), Kishkutena and Rowan have consistently produced large muskie in great numbers. As a result, many fishermen and fish biologists think the next world record muskie will be caught in the Nestor Falls area. Nestor Falls also has a great number of unparalleled fly-in and remote outpost camp outfitters. Much like fishing, hunting is unsurpassed in the area. To suit the likes of any sportsman, large numbers of whitetail deer, moose, bear, duck, goose and grouse inhabit the surrounding woodlands. Despite the fabulous fishing and hunting available, the beauty of the unspoiled wilderness is what brings people back year after year. Local resorts provide wilderness camping and canoeing among the many activities to partake in. Many people have yet to discover all that the Nestor Falls area has to offer. With the hectic pace of everyday life, the tranquility of this majestic area is appreciated by all who have visited. Come visit Caliper Lake Provincial Park or have a picnic at the infamous Falls from which the town got its name and listen to the water rushing onto the rocks below. 14 Modern Housekeeping Cabins & Motel w/Kitchenettes Boats, Motors, Boat Ramp, Paddle Boats, Kayaks Walleye, Northern, Bass, Crappie and Muskie ON THE SHORE OF CROOKED PINE LAKE AT THE FALLS IN NESTOR FALLS, ONTARIO CANADA Access the resources listed below for more info on Nestor Falls: • www.ontariotowns.net/NestorFalls • www.snnf.ca • Nestor Falls Tourism: 807-226-5241 Summer: (807) 484-2132 Winter: 1-515-360-8940 www.arrowheadresortmotel.com Email: [email protected] NESTOR FALLS HIGHLIGHTS • The Falls • “Muskie Capital” • Ontario’s Ultimate Fishing Town • Caliper Lake Provincial Park PO Box 155, Norwalk, IA 50211 Monte and Tammy McCleerey D EE T SP NE GH ER HI INT Box 66, Nestor Falls, ON P0X 1K0 Monte and Tammy McCleerey NESTOR FALLS, ONTARIO 73
